Labor figures for Mexico’s municipalities: Small Area Estimation

Labor figures for Mexico’s municipalities were estimated during 2018’s first quarter by using Small Area Estimation (SAE) techniques with the incorporation of a spatial component – given there is no recent information source such level geographic disaggregation. To achieve this, combined from different sources was used to build statistical models in which Economically Active Population, Employed Population and Informal taken as variables object estimation this National Survey Occupation Employment (ENOE its acronym Spanish). Auxiliary selected population censuses, administrative records, projections. The results contrasted those calculated applying percentage structures 2010 Housing Census provided ENOE at federal entity level, data survey (obtained direct had sufficient sample acceptable coefficients variation). It observed that obtained are plausible register variation below 10 percent.
